Are you paying yourself a Holiday Bonus? What about your Answering Service?
The Holiday Fee is something I've always has a hard time understanding. I've heard all of the explanations like overtime and other costs associated with being open on a holiday, Most business owners I've spoken to say they wish they could open on holidays, even if it cost them more.
Fact is, the economy is having an affect on most of our businesses. Paying a "Thanksgiving Holiday Fee" or "Christmas Holiday Fee" for answering service is hard to justify. Bottom line, we realize that holiday bonuses are getting harder to pay, so we don't expect you to pay us one.
Keep in mind that most answering services bill based on time or the number of calls they handle. While some clients generate a higher volume of call during holiday periods, they will pay a slightly higher fee based on their volume. Answering service clients that do not have an increase in call volume due to the holiday will see no increase.
